Exploring Concepts in Different Contexts
Each academic year of SIMMS Integrated Mathematics includes algebra, geometry, probability, statistics, and discrete mathematics. Essential mathematical concepts are explored more than once, each time at a slightly higher level—in different settings and in different years—to help students build both vital connections and critical competencies.
Students investigate mathematics in the context of crucial social and environmental issues—such as population growth, oil spills, and earthquake damage—along with other real-world topics including mapmaking, business inventory, digital animation, and automobile insurance.
